Welcome to the Jungle

Rainforest Ready Looks

Postcards from Costa Rica

Last month, a milestone birthday brought sixteen best friends from all over the country to Costa Rica for a long weekend bash. Our four hour journey from San Jose, though fraught with the mystique of dense mist and treacherous mountain roads, led us to the enchanting enclave of La Fortuna. We stayed in the hilltop resort of Nayara offering spectacular views of the rainforest and the Arenal volcano, an emerald green sleeping beauty. The property is dotted with pools fed by volcanic springs naturally heated to a steamy 98 degrees and features bungalows and glamping tents with plunge pools.

The weekend was spent alternating between relaxation and adventure in the Costa Rican rainforest. Our attire mirrored our moods - vibrant, vivacious, and unabashedly holiday ready. Here's a run down of my favorite looks from the trip!

1. Pool Day

We designed the Grazia Dress, which made it's debut in Fall 2023, in a punchy pink peacock print for the Resort Season. I lived in this dress on the trip and popped it over my bathing suit for day or cinched with a belt and platform sandals for long, lazy lunches. The effortless fit and breathable cotton fabrication made it a breezy choice for the steamy jungle.

2. Cocktail Party

We dressed up for dinner every night which was so fun. Leaning into the humidity, I let the hair go wild and wore little make-up save for a pop of red lip. This was my debut wear in the new Blaze Skirt featuring a chic raffia belt and fruit basket placement print. I paired mine with the matching Sagaponack Top and Gianvito Rossi platforms. The top was introduced in Spring 2020 - our very first collection - and continues to be a sell-out style. I ended up giving mine to a friend on the trip who was coveting it for her Spring Break trip - that's true love!

3. Morning Coffee

Every morning we walked through the jungle to cute little outdoor bungalows serving strong Costa Rican coffee in French Presses and delicious Central American pastries. The new Jaipur Dress was an easy piece to throw on and feel instantly put together. Designed in brown and green peacock printed linen, it looked great paired with braided leather sandals. Mine are Massimo Dutti who make really chic and functional vaca-slides.

4. Last Dinner

And last selfie induced lip curl from the husband. This is our third season featuring silk lounge-sets and we have no intention of slowing down on iterations of these effortlessly glam looks. Our clients and friends repeatedly ask for them in fresh prints and our Resort version may be my favorite yet featuring a jubilant peacock in rich emerald green tones. I paired a coral statement earring by Cresta Bledsoe for a fun contrast.
