The World of Weezie

@liz_weezie shares the inspiration behind the brand and the small luxuries she can't live without...
Liz Eichholz knows a thing or two about elevating the everyday. As the co-founder of Weezie Towels, she’s built a brand that turns a daily ritual into something a little more joyful—and a lot more luxe.
We caught up with Liz to talk about building Weezie, the inspiration behind the brand, and the small luxuries she can’t live without.

How do you like to start your mornings, and what rituals help set the tone for your day?

I like to wake up before my 3 daughters are up for the day and either work out or have some time to myself before the chaos of the day begins! For me the rituals start the night before: everyone’s shoes, water bottles, sweat shirts, backpacks, etc. have to be laid out so we’re not scrambling in the morning. I am not a naturally organized person so if I force this the night before it makes alllll the difference. Our school attendance record might tell a different story but I am a reformed late person and working on it…

What moments or experiences most shape your creative point of view for Weezie?

As cliche as it sounds, TRAVEL! I leave every trip inspired in some way or another. I love to see how other people live, design a hotel, shop in person, or experience a new culture. I have always had really open eyes for receiving inspiration and it hits the most when I’m in a new atmosphere.

Can you tell us about the early spark behind Weezie — when did you realize there was room to reimagine something as everyday as a towel?

I was inspired to start Weezie almost a decade ago when I was registering for towels when getting married. I felt like every company was a bedding company with towels as an afterthought. There was no go-to towel company with the best towel on the market. After lots of convincing, my co-founder Lindsey agreed there was a hole in the market and we set out to create the most thoughtful luxury towel in existence. Stars aligned and we met a 100 year old Portuguese factory just waiting for someone to want to be the hero of the towel and the rest is history!

What role do color, texture, and small details play in creating pieces that feel both functional and special?

Everything. I truly believe the difference between something you use and something you love is in the details.

Color sets the mood, whether it’s a soft neutral that makes your bathroom feel like a hotel or a maximalist pattern that gives it personality. Texture is huge for us because towels are such a tactile product. If it doesn’t feel incredible the second you touch it, it’s not ready.

And then the small details like our rounded corners, attached robe ties, non-slip dots on bath mats, the embroidery preview. To me, that’s real luxury: when something quietly works beautifully and makes your everyday feel elevated because it has thoughtful details.

Travel often sharpens our sense of comfort and luxury — how do your travels inform the way you think about home?

Travel really is my biggest creative reset! When I’m somewhere new, I’m always noticing the details–the color combinations, the lighting, the way everything comes together to create a feeling. We recently did a staycation at The Douglas in Savannah and I was so inspired by the combinations of art.

I usually come home with a camera roll full of tile, trim, and unexpected color pairings. Travel reminds me that luxury isn’t about excess, it’s about intention. I’m always chasing that “favorite hotel” feeling at home and with Weezie: thoughtful, personal, and quietly special.

As the brand has grown, what has surprised you most about the Weezie community?

How deeply people care! Weezie started as this idea Lindsey and I had about making towel buying joyful. We now have customers who gift Weezie at every wedding, bring it to every housewarming, and DM us photos of their newly renovated bathrooms like we’re part of the family.

I’ve been surprised by how multigenerational our community is. We have young moms discovering us for the first time and also women who remind me so much of my mom. It’s this Southern-rooted, design-loving, hospitality-obsessed group of women who really believe in elevating the everyday. That connection has been the most rewarding part.

What does “everyday luxury” mean to you, both in business and in your personal life?

To me, everyday luxury is about not saving the good stuff! It’s using your nice towels on a random Tuesday. Lighting the candle. Wearing the robe. Setting the table with the good china even if it’s just your family.

In business, it means creating products that are high quality and design-forward but still approachable, not intimidating. Luxury shouldn’t feel precious or untouchable. It should feel lived-in and joyful.

In my personal life, especially as a mom of three, it’s about finding small rituals that make chaos feel special. A quiet cup of coffee before everyone wakes up. Fresh sheets. A beautifully folded stack of towels. It’s rarely grand and it’s usually tiny, thoughtful moments.

When you’re not working, what’s your favorite way to unwind and reset?

For me, unwinding is almost always about being with family and friends ideally outside with good music and a good cocktail. We live in beautiful Savannah, GA and we really try to take advantage of it. We’re at the beach or on the water as much as possible. An afternoon on the boat with the girls and all of our friends is my favorite kind of reset.

I also love a great meal. Whether it’s a special night out at Common Thread or a casual family dinner at The Wyld after being on the water all day. That combination of being outside, being together, and ending the day around a table feels like the best kind of luxury to me.
