For the new collection, Cara Cara draws inspiration from weekends in Dutchess County, NY and the magic of late summer unfolding into fall in the Hudson Valley. The collection easily transitions from city to country and country to city, allowing the Cara Cara girl to strike a balance between cosmopolitan sophistication and fall weekend pursuits.
The versatility of the collection is considered through a vintage “town and country” lens, resulting in prints such as florals from August gardens, medallion borrowed from the interiors of chic, historic inns and rich Italian wool plaids. Charlotte Rampling serves as a muse, whose effortless and free-spirited ‘60s style gave way to chic French tailoring in the ‘70s. Inspirations like vintage equestrian clothes translate to the perfect capsule for a festive country weekend with pieces such as plaid jackets, tailored bustiers and pants. The spirit of transition appears throughout the collection. As the Cara Cara girl enters the holiday season, custom brocades and rich velvets allow her to shift from dinner party style to a holiday ball, while sequin separates, and a twisted pearls print introduce fresh glamour for the party season.
